The energy solution is one of the key elements of an autonomous product, directly linked to its performance, lifespan, and reliable operation throughout its use.

Hortus Technologies can assist you through our Engineering Department in identifying the energy solution that suits your needs and validating this solution in the laboratory using our specific methodologies and measurement equipment.

Our approach, aimed at perfectly mastering the characteristics of the implemented energy solution, consists of four distinct steps: evaluate, measure, choose, and validate.

The applied methodology considers the following parameters:

  • Mastering the envisaged lifespan, considering environmental conditions
  • Ensuring the compatibility of the energy choice with the electronic and mechanical design
  • Ensuring the coherence of the solution with the product’s cost objectives
  • Qualifying the supplier of the energy solution elements

 

Hortus Technologies implements its test plan using various characterization tools such as:

  • Climate chambers for temperature characterizations by steps or cycles
  • Equipment allowing the measurement of product consumption profiles
  • Equipment adapted to emulating product consumption profiles to characterize the elements of the energy solution

 

In addition, mastering the behavior of the energy solution will also allow the definition and implementation of real-time estimation algorithms for the remaining lifespan of the products.

BLOCKS OF THE ENERGY SOLUTION

The energy solution must be considered as a whole:

1 – The energy source (energy reservoir, battery pack, battery)

2- The current pulse assistance block: the super-capacitor and its balancing circuit, the hybrid component)

3- Voltage regulation: linear regulators, DC-DC converters, voltage boosters/reducers
